When in Florida

Yesterday was an odd day, in the sense that, I actually woke up in a good mood. I was happy, listening to music, and doing my work with a positive attitude. I was super-excited to go to the gym after work. It was leg day, the best gym-day ever. Until fucking Florida!

As some of you may know I was in the always-sunny Naples, Florida about two weeks ago. For work. Any expenses are covered and paid by the company, using the company's corporate card. That's how I always have operated when down there. On this trip though, I did use my personal debit card on two occasions, at a Shell gas station, and in a local brewery. Actually, it was three, also at the Fort Myers Airport. I can't come home empty-handed to the girls.

On Monday, I received a call from my bank's fraud department regarding a transaction taken in Florida, at a Walmart for 250.00 USD. Of course, I claimed that was an unauthorized transaction, they took care of it and canceled my card. and so, there was that. Or so I thought.

Yesterday, I was in the middle of my amazing workout, having a good time, and releasing some stress, when I get a text from Annie, showing two transactions that took place, at Publix for 750.00 USD, and at some bike rental place for 23.something USD and 5.something at another Publix.

Fan-fucking-tastic!

The time I should have spent on the other half of my workout, I spent it on the phone with the claims department, sorting things out. By the end of it, I was frustrated, annoyed, and creeped out. And also felt a bit like an idiot, as if I had been taken advantage of.

live and learn, I suppose.
